Chardham: The Heavenly Abode Of Garhwal Hills



According to the religion of Hinduism, Teerth Yatra is one of the responsibilities of every Hindu including dharma, sanskars, worship and celebration of festivals. Chardham being the holy, sacred pilgrimage site is one of the common places visited by Hindu followers for their spiritual beliefs and faith in god.

     Gangotri Dham – Located in Uttarkashi, it is one of the popular holy place. The temple is located at an altitude of 3042 m and the peaceful aura and spiritual environment makes it a must visit place. The pure serene Ganga waters lying in the mountains are awesome. Tapovan, Bhairon Ghati, submerged Shivling are other places in vicinity of temple.

     Shri Kedarnath Dham – Situated at an altitude of 3584 m in the alpine forests and the snowy mountains, is famous for the Lord Shiva temple aboded in the mesmerizing  beauty of nature. The tranquil surroundings with sacred shrines make it a perfect holy place. Chorabari Tal, Gaurikund, Vasuki Tal and Shankaracharya Samadhi are nearby places to visit.

     Shri Badrinath Dham – Located in the back behind it are the Neelkanth mountains with Nar on one side and Narayan on other. Bestowed with awe struck surroundings including snow covered peaks and landscapes which are extremely magnificent. It is a spellbound site for recreation. Other places include Tapt Kund, Brahma Kapal, Neelkanth, Mata Murli temple, Narad Kund, Bheem pul, Vyas Cave, Ganesha cave, Panch Dharas, Panch Shilas, etc.
